Triple Murder of Junaid, Nilofer and their daughter (Episode 47 on 7th October 2011)
The Inside Story
MUMBAI: Three members of a family were found murdered in their house at Raoji Nagar in Bhiwandi on Wednesday afternoon. The motive is not clear.
Moneylender Irfan Sayyed Shah, (30) his wife Gulistan (25) and their daughter Muskan (4) were found lying dead in a pool of blood. Saniya (8), Shah's elder daughter, found the bodies when she returned home from school at 2 pm. A horrified Saniya rushed to her grandfather Sajjad Shah and brother Imran (10), who were in the vicinity, and they informed the Shanti Nagar police. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
According to the police, Irfan used to lend money to prostitutes in the Hanuman Tekdi area. The police suspect that the murder could have been the handiwork of two or three persons. Evidence found at the spot and injury marks suggest that Shah and his wife fought the attackers. "Primary probe shows that the assailants were known to the victim's family as they were allowed inside the house," said inspector Dilip Suryawanshi.
"It is suspected that the incident took place between 12.30 pm and 2 pm because at 12.30 pm, a family friend of the victim took his lunch box from the house to deliver it at the deceased's office at Hanuman Tekdi," said KP Raghuvanshi, Thane police commissioner.
Police are investigating a robbery angle as they found that someone had tried to open the locker but couldn't succeed as key was found hanging on it.
The incident has shocked to the neighborhood area. "It is shocking. The police should take up the case on a priority basis and solve it as soon as possible. Otherwise the people in the city will feel insecure and venerable" said local resident Ramesh Jadhav.
