A day after the murder of a disc jockey (DJ), who owned an entertainment
orchestra group as well, the police suspect that a close relative of the
victim’s wife may be behind the crime. He is absconding.
Meanwhile, the police recovered several used condoms and other objectionable
items from the house of the victim.

The body of 32-year-old Nahid Khan was recovered from his house at Baba Deep
Singh Nagar on Wednesday. He was alone at the time of the incident as his wife
was traveling to Bengaluru where she worked as a dancer. “Used condoms were
found from the room and his call details show that he was in touch with many
women of the city,” said Harjinder Singh, SHO, Urban Estate.
Meanwhile, SP (Investigation) Harwinder Singh said the recovery of many
condoms suggested the presence of a number of men in the house. “We are not
sure why so many used condoms and video CDs were there in his house. We will
probe the case as we suspect the role of a close relative,” he added.
The police said the victim’s body was found in his house with multiple stab
wounds. “Prima facie it may be a handiwork of more than two persons. There was
no forcible entry and it seems that the murderers were known to the victim. We
are probing all angles,” the police said.
A case has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian penal Code (IPC)
against unknown persons on the statement of the victim’s brother, Taufiq. The
Urban Estate police have rounded up a few persons in the case.

Patiala: 32-year-old man Nahid Salmani, who resided in Baba Deep Singh Nagar
found murdered inside his house.
According to the police Nahid, who lived alone in house number 35 A in the
said locality had been attacked by swords. They said fatal injuries had been
inflicted around the neck and waist of the deceased that were spotted during
the preliminary investigations.
Superintendent of Police Kesar Singh said that from it appeared that more than
one person could be involved in the attack.
It was learnt that his wife lives in Bangalore, while other members of the
family reside including his brother reside near Mohindra College on the other
side of the city. Last night, he returned home after dropping his younger
brother to the other house at around 8:30 pm, the police said.
They are suspecting that Nahid had company last evening as they had found
multiple glasses that were being used to consume liquor. One of the cops said
that there was a possibility of a heated argument that led to a bloody scuffle
between friends. He said that the police were working on a number of theories
and it was too early to reveal any further details. A team of forensic experts
was also rushed to the spot to pick vital pieces of evidence from the crime
scene that could prove the prosecution’s case in the court. Services of dog
squad were also pressed into services.
Meanwhile, the police said that a case under Section 302 of the IPC had been
registered against unidentified persons at the Sadar police station and the
matter was being further investigated. The body was shifted to the mortuary of
the Government Rajindra Hospital for post-mortem examination.

डीजे प्लेयर, डॉग सप्लायर व कांग्रेसी वर्कर था। बता दें कि मंगलवार रात हत्यारे
उसके घर में पहले से अंदर थे। उन्होंने तोता की आंखों में मिर्ची डाली। फिर उसकी
गर्दन, चेहरे, सिर व छाती पर तलवारों और प्राइवेट पार्ट के पास सूए से लगातार कई
वार किए और हत्यारे उसे तड़पाते रहे। उसकी गर्दन पर 7 इंच तक काटने का निशान था।
पड़ोसियों को उसकी चीख-पुकार तक नहीं सुनाई दी। हत्यारे उसको बेड से नीचे फेंक कर
कमरे को ताला लगाकर फरार हो गए। बाथरूम से लेकर कमरे तक बिखरा था खून…
– मृतक के चार भाई व अन्य घरवाले बुधवार सुबह से उसे लगातार फोन कर रहे थे। भाई
तोहिद उर्फ पोदा मोबाइल बंद मिलने पर तोता को बुलाने घर पहुंचा। वहां उसने देखा
कि घर में बाथरूम से लेकर कमरे तक खून बिखरा था और कमरे को बाहर से ताला लगा
था।
– पालतू चार पिट बुल डॉग्स ऊपर बंधे थे। कमरे का ताला तोड़कर अंदर गया तो देखा कि
भाई तोता को लहूलुहान हालत में बेड के पास फर्श पर पड़ा हुआ था।
– वारदात की सूचना पर थाना अर्बन स्टेट, एसपी सिटी केसर सिंह व अन्य थाना के
एसएचओ घटनास्थल पर पहुंचे।
– भाइयों ने बताया कि मंगलवार रात 10 बजे तोता ने उन्हें ढिल्लों कॉलोनी उनके
मां-बाप के घर छोड़ा था। तोता बाबा दीप सिंह नगर में अकेला रहता था। वह उन्हें घर
पर डॉग्स को दूध पिलाने की बात कहकर निकला था। पड़ोसियों के मुताबिक नाहिद का
स्वभाव बहुत अच्छा था। वह हर किसी का मददगार रहा है।
वारदात में करीबी का हाथ
– पुलिस टीम व फॉरेंसिक एक्सपर्ट्स ने मौका-ए-वारदात की जांच की। कमरे के दरवाजे
पर भी तलवार का निशान मिला।
– तोता की गर्दन पर तलवार से जोरदार वार होने से उसके शरीर से लगातार खून बह रहा
था। इससे पता चलता है कि हत्यारों में बहुत खुन्नस थी।
– जाहिर है हत्यारे तोता के करीबी रहे होंगे, क्योंकि वारदात की रात घर में मौजूद
चार पिट बुल डॉग्स भौंके भी नहीं।
– हत्यारों ने वारदात से पहले डॉग्स को ऊपर के कमरे में बांधा होगा। माना जा रहा
है कि इनमें कोई लड़की भी रही होगी।
– किसी पार्टी के लिए तोता बाहर से चिकन लेकर आया था। इस दौरान वह सोशल
नेटवर्किंग पर ऑनलाइन रहा।
– रात करीब 1 बजे के बाद तोता का मोबाइल फोन स्विच ऑफ हो गया। माना जा रहा है कि
हत्यारे के घर की पिछली दीवार फांदकर फरार हुए है।
