Singh, 28, along with his friend Prem Ashok Harchandani, 25, planned the crime and killed Jagdish, 24. The victim was not only hit by bamboos, but also brutally thrashed. Since he was profusely bleeding, Kashish took him to Gagangiri hospital in Kalyan where he was declared dead.
Despite that, she shifted him to JJ hospital so that they could escape from the murder charges and make it look like a case of negligence.
According to the complaint filed at Vitthalwadi police station, Kashish had several extra marital affairs; one of which was with Singh.
According to the police, she used to return sexual favours for money. "She had asked Singh to pay her Rs15,000, but eventually settled down for Rs2,000. This act was taking place since March, without her husband's knowledge," said an officer.
"On April 7, she received a call from Singh, asking her to meet. But when she refused to meet, he abused her over the phone. When her husband learnt about this, he intervened, which led to an argument between him and Singh.
"Though during investigation, the woman gave false alibi stating that her husband fell off his two-wheeler while returning home from market, we learnt the truth after getting the post-mortem reports," said a police official.
VC Dolas, senior police inspector, said, "The trio are in police custody and they have confessed to the crime. All of them have been booked under sections 177, 302, 201 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and will remain in police custody.
